Experts demand to make assessment checkup mandatory before setting up data centre
Due to the lack of cohesive and coordinated initiatives, the telecom sector has been disrupted by the Khawaja Tower fire. To prevent such accidents, DR and data center plug and play facilities, redundancy and security measures have been called for in advance by the sector concerned. They think that if redundancy is not ensured through the secondary data center to ensure the security of the data center and its related buildings for data availability, they fear more danger ahead. For this reason, regular drills should be conducted with the concerned parties to implement the 'BCP'. They also emphasized determining the amount of loss through IT asset valuation. Said, whatever the tire; Experts have demanded that assessment checkups be made mandatory before setting up data centers.
They stated such expressions in the panel discussion on the strategy solution to achieve cyber capability of Bangladesh held at the break-in of Mohakhali in the capital on Saturday organized by BDSAF.
Moderated by BDSAF General Secretary Muhibbul Muktadir Tanim, Contessa Solutions Managing Director Lutfar Rahman, Robi's Cyber Security Vice President Sanjay Chakraborty, Community Bank DMD MA Qayyum Khan and Deloitte Bangladesh South Asia Director Muiz Tasnim participated in the discussion.

In the statement, they said that, the country's banks are lagging behind in cyber security processes. Therefore, experts in the sector called for a change of mindset in global thinking. They regret that even though the CISOs and CIOs want, but the investors don't. They do not audit. Therefore, we have to work for foreign countries by creating resources in Bangladesh to advance the society and the state in addition to our own homes.
Earlier in the technical session, Ahmed Saif Muntasir on Endpoint Security, SM Rubayet Islam on IAM Essentials in Cyber Security, Shaukat Ali on Defense Depth, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain on Penetration Testing, Amir Hossain Sohag on Cloud Security Best Practices, Mizanur Rahman on Cloud Zorro Trust Architect discussed about it. After the mid-day break, Shahnaz Begum shed light on the issues to be considered in Social Engineering. Ruskin Paul on Next Generation Sock as MDF, Shankar Nandi on E-mail Security Protocol and Dhaka University Teacher Mehdi Hasan on DNS Security.
In their speech, they urged all citizens to practice a unique cyber culture on the do's and don'ts to protect themselves through awareness. At the end of the session, BDSAF president Md. Zobair Al Mahmud handed over mementos to everyone.
